Thank you to all the enthusiastic participants in the 9th Annual Hawaii Island Contractors' Association Scholarship Trolling Tournament. Each year, tournament proceeds fund scholarships for students entering their second year of college or trade school pursuing a degree in a construction-related field.

Congratulations to this year's Grand Champions, La Paloma, and to the anglers of Mika D, who caught the largest mahimahi.

We would also like to thank for their participation, father and son team Steve Stein and Angler Max Stein of the Fog Bound; Carl Shioji, one of the founding Trolling Committee Members, on the Aya T; and the Kori-Kai II team, who had their first catch this year after whitewashing in 2007.

Last but not least, fishing on the Makana were Leslie Isemoto and Alden Chai, the founders and chairmen of the HICA Scholarship Trolling Tournament, to whom we owe our gratitude for their hard work on this yearly event.
